Number of Invitations Issued: 920
Minimum CRS: 739
Program Specified: Provincial Nominee Program
Tie-breaking rule: February 02, 2024 at 11:38:43 UTC
Today, Canada conducted its third Express Entry draw focusing exclusively on candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This increased frequency of PNP-specific draws highlights Canada’s strategic emphasis on addressing regional labor market needs and enhancing local economies in different provinces.
By targeting workers with skills that match regional demands, the government aims to promote balanced economic growth nationwide. Provinces facing skill shortages in critical sectors benefit the most from this approach. Consequently, applicants with the necessary qualifications are more likely to be invited to apply for Canadian residency.
Third PNP-Specific Draw in 2024!
In Express Entry draw #299, 920 Invitations to Apply (ITA) were issued to candidates in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) category, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 739.
To be selected in this draw, candidates needed to have a PNP nomination.
In the previous draw, Express Entry draw #298, 1,499 ITAs were issued to PNP candidates with a minimum CRS score of 663.
What Is Express Entry and How Can I Apply?
Express Entry is the system used by the Canadian government to manage applications for permanent residency. It ranks candidates’ profiles using a point-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Express Entry oversees three primary programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW)
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Applying through Express Entry involves two main steps. First, candidates must submit their profile along with the necessary documents, which typically include language test results, educational credentials, and a passport or travel documentation.
Once a profile is submitted and an invitation to apply for permanent residence is received, candidates can then submit their complete application for review by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This complete application should include additional supporting documents such as reference letters, further identity documents, police clearance certificates, and medical examination results.
Number of Candidates in the Current Express Entry Pool
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) updates the composition of the Express Entry pool a few days before each invitation round. The numbers fluctuate as new profiles are added, some profiles expire, and others receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
As of today, the composition of the Express Entry pool is as follows:
