Express Entry Draw 298

Date of Draw: June 19, 2024 at 14:37:26 UTC

Number of Invitations Issued: 1,499

Minimum CRS: 663

Program Specified: Provincial Nominee Program

Tie-breaking rule:January 19, 2024 at 10:10:40 UTC

This year, Express Entry draws have deviated from their usual pattern. While they typically occur bi-weekly on Wednesday afternoons, the introduction of new category-based draws has led to an irregular schedule, alternating between all-program draws and program-specific draws. This unpredictability makes it challenging to forecast the timing and type of the next draw. However, as more draws take place, a clearer pattern is expected to emerge.

Second PNP-Specific Draw in 2024!

Today marked the second Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw of the year, where 1,499 candidates received Invitations to Apply (ITA) in Express Entry draw 298. To qualify, applicants needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 663.

A PNP nomination significantly boosts an applicant’s CRS score by 600 points. Across Canada, excluding Quebec and Nunavut, each province and territory runs its own PNP with multiple streams, totaling over 80 different programs.

To be eligible for today’s draw, candidates first required a PNP nomination. The previous PNP-specific draw, held on May 30, 2024 (draw #296), issued 2,985 ITAs to candidates with a minimum CRS score of 676.

What Is Express Entry and How Can I Apply?

Express Entry is a system used by the Canadian government to manage applications for permanent residency. This system employs the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to evaluate and rank candidates’ profiles based on points. Express Entry oversees three primary programs:

  1. Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW)
  2. Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST)
  3. Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Applying through Express Entry involves two main steps. First, you must submit your profile along with necessary documents such as language test results, educational credentials, and a passport or travel document.

Once your profile is submitted and you receive an invitation to apply for permanent residency, you can then submit a complete application for review by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This final application must include supporting documents like reference letters, additional identity documents, police clearance certificates, and medical examination results.

Number of Candidates in the Current Express Entry Pool

A few days before an invitation round, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) updates the number of people in the Express Entry pool. These numbers fluctuate as new profiles are added, others expire, or candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

As of today, the composition of the Express Entry pool is:
